Apex IT has a strong interest in philanthropy and has been supporting the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Denver for years. To kick off 2018, Apex IT donated the funds needed to underwrite two weeks of summer camp at Gates Camp, serving about 140 campers! For the past 46 years, Gates Camp has been giving kids aged 8-13 the opportunity to have a transformational wilderness experience. Gates Camp includes an archery range, a three-acre lake and fishing dock, a challenge course, volleyball and basketball courts, rock climbing wall, brand new ball gaga ball pit, and 80 acres of pristine Colorado wilderness at an elevation of 9,000 feet above sea level. Boys and girls attending camp participate in hiking, canoeing, fishing, rock climbing, archery, hands-on environmental games, and other outdoor activities designed to teach kids to explore new ideas, work in teams, and support one another. Throughout their time at Gates Camp, campers have to utilize their heads, heart, and hands to overcome challenges and become increasingly self-aware of who they are and what they have to offer.
